McKayla Morris: I attended Fieldcrest Montessori for the Performing Arts in seventh grade and I got really close with my theater director. She told me about it and said I should audition for the show. I auditioned with everyone and got a callback that I made a lead role. We've been rehearsing since September.

Morris:Β My Grown Up Christmas List.

North Canton Patch: Do you have a backstage ritual before each show?

Morris: I like to lie down in my dressing room and put on music to help me focus on my breathing, and I imagine myself on stage in front of millions of people. The stage is my safe spot.

North Canton Patch: Do you want to pursue a career in this field?

Morris: I definitely want to be an actress. After high school I want to go to a college in New York for musical theater.

North Canton Patch: If you could act in any play or musical, what would it be?

Morris: Wicked. It is the musical that got me started on everything. And I think a lot of people can relate to it.

North Canton Patch: What do you want to tell people about Saturday's show?

Morris: They should definitely try to go see it. It's going to be amazing. We have the best cast and crew ever. We even have a former Broadway star from the Lion King coming to perform.
