Veterans Day Video Airs Today on Channel 11
The documentary created by Hoover High students will air today on Time Warner Cable Channel 11 in the City of North Canton at 8 a.m., noon, 5 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

With Veteran’s Day celebrations being planned throughout the country, North Canton City Schools is producing a documentary, “A Thousand Words: For Those Who Served” to honor veterans this year.
Students and staff were invited to write letters expressing their thanks to veterans who have served or who are currently serving the country. Some chose to write a letter addressed to soldiers in general, while others wrote to specific veterans they know, including fathers, grandfathers, uncles, cousins and friends.
Six letters were chosen to create the script for the documentary. Each letter is read by the author and helps express many of the sentiments that all of the letters held.

As the letters are read, pictures of veterans are displayed. More than 100 pictures were sent in by community members, students and staff. Those used in the film highlight a soldier who has not only served and protected the country, but has a connection to North Canton as well.
Finally, moments of gratitude expressed by students in the district, staff members, board members and others are included to weave the collection of letters and pictures together.
