Aliberti Art Tile and More Featured in Home-Based Business Fair

Some home-based business owners operate out of their houses to save costs, while others do so only until they can obtain a storefront.

Hundreds of Shaker Heights homeowners like Gregory Aliberti have taken advantage of their living space to produce goods and provide services.

"It's a good way to get started in entrepreneurship," said Aliberti, the owner of Aliberti Art Tile. "It's at least a starting point. Shaker's ideal for that because there are so many homes that are large."

Aliberti will be one of 25 business owners displaying their services today at the . The event begins at 11 a.m. at .

Aliberti moved to Shaker two years ago. He produces handmade tile products with renewable resources. He has done commercial work for the Greater Cleveland RTA, P.J. McIntyre's Irish Pub and more. His residential works include counters, wall accents and fireplaces.

"People spend money on granite and kitchen updates, but for a small fraction of that they can have something produced in town with renewable resources," he said. "It's not out of their price range as much as people presume."

Aliberti looks forward to giving visitors the details today until the event ends at 1 p.m.

"I appreciate the opportunity to come out and meet people in the community and promote myself," he said.
