Bicycle And Lawn Equipment Thefts Hit Shaker Heights

Lock your bikes and storage sheds — thieves took advantage of unlocked bikes and unattended lawn equipment last week in Shaker Heights.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A string of equipment and bicycle thefts occurred in Shaker Heights this past week. Police also detained a Cleveland man who was threatening and preventing a woman from leaving.

Menacing, June 20 - officers responded to the 3000 block of Avalon Rd. where they detained a 24-year-old male resident of Cleveland who made threats and prevented a female acquaintance from leaving.

Theft, June 20 - A juvenile male from Cleveland reported that an unknown suspect stole their bicycle, which was left unlocked at Heinen’s located in the 16000 block of Chagrin Blvd.

Theft, June 20 - A resident reported that an unknown suspect(s) stole their bicycle, which was left unlocked at Thornton Park located in the 3000 block of Warrensville Center Rd.

Theft, June 15 - A Lee Road resident reported that their lawnmower had been stolen which was left unattended in their yard.

Theft, June 12 - Someone entered a locked storage locker and stole equipment. Police say the theft occurred in the 14000 block of South Woodland Road.

Shoplifting, June 11 - Police officers detained a 47-year-old Cleveland resident who was observed stealing, and found in possession of, supplies stolen from the Rite Aid, located in the 20000 block of Chagrin Blvd.
