Event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thornton Park

Shaker Heights residents can learn about their water service and get free prizes for their children all at once today.
The city is hosting a Community Information & Back to School Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thornton Park, 3301 Warrensville Center Road.

According to Cleveland Water's website, the project will replace or modify existing meters with equipment that allows Cleveland Water to obtain meter readings without coming to a home or business. More than 420,000 meters will be upgraded in Cleveland and 70 surrounding communities.
Residents are also encouraged to bring their children to receive a back-to-school-bag giveaway, play games and participate in face painting.
