Cyclist Killed While Riding Shaker Boulevard

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office identified the bicyclist on Friday morning.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A cyclist was killed while riding down Shaker Boulevard on Thursday morning.

At 4:27 a.m, callers reported that a car had hit a bicyclist on Shaker, near South Park Boulevard. When officers and EMS arrived, they found a hurt 65-year-old man. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, Shaker Heights police said.

The cyclist was identified Friday morning as Floyd Patterson, a 65-year-old Shaker Heights resident, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office announced.

The investigation into what happened shut down part of Shaker Boulevard through early Thursday, police said.
