Today is the big day in Shaker Heights — voters will decide whether to approve a to provide the city with $6 million to replace anticipated losses from state aid.

The result of today's election will impact the city for years to come, regardless which side finishes with an advantage. Mayor Earl Leiken has said that if voters don't approve the measure. If Issue 1 passes, the city would have enough funds to avoid widespread changes.
