Hardware Store Was Latest Hit by Flash Cashers
Shaker Heights Hardware got hit hard by the cash mob last week.

Usually you think of a mob hit as a bad thing. But for Shaker Heights Hardware, it was nothing but good.
The store was the latest "hit" by the Flash Cashers, Shaker's popular cash mob, who hits local businesses each month, creating a quick stream of money for the target.
"Thanks to everyone who showed up to flash Shaker Hardware," the banner on the group's website blares. "It was a huge success."

The Flash Cashers struck on the evening of April 29, bringing more money into the store in a three-hour period than the entire day leading up to it, according to The Plain Dealer.
Jennifer Lehner, who organized the event, eventually wants to fine tune the concept to bring the biggest bang for the buck.

“We can’t lose sight of the goal, which is to support local business in the best possible fashion,” Lehner told The Plain Dealer. “There’s no guidebook to a cash mob. There’s a lot of experimentation involved. But this seems to be working.”
