Thefts on Braemar, Farnsleigh: A Braemar Road resident called police on July 22 while someone was in his garage taking a lawnmower.
The call came in at 4:16 p.m. Police soon found the suspect, a 44-year-old male of Cleveland, and placed him under arrest.
The same day, a resident told police that a vehicle on Farnsleigh Road had been broken into. A briefcase wast stolen. The caller believes it occurred 1:30 and 10:20 a.m.
Belongings, identity compromised: A woman told Shaker Heights Police that her purse — which contained vital documents and information about herself and her children — was stolen from her unlocked vehicle on July 20.
The car was parked in front of GameStop at Shaker Town Center on Chagrin Boulevard. The purse contained: A Visa credit card, five Social Security cards, a list of PIN numbers, and birth certificates, Police Lt. Jeff DeMuth said. The purse itself is valued at about $50, and it also contained a $15 wallet.
The car was parked at the location for nearly 12 hours that day.
Editor's Note: DeMuth said the thefts in this article are not related to the rash of thefts from vehicles that that resulted in the arrests of four juveniles.
