Monarch Center for Autism Art Fair Takes Place Sunday

Event raises funds for center the provides services for people, ages 3 to 22, with Autism

Four years after two Monarch Center for Autism parents wondered how they could help raise money for the school, their fundraiser has become an a growing, annual event.

The will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the A Building on the Bellefaire JCB campus, which houses Monarch. The event is free and open to the public, but will feature plenty of purchasable artwork and goods that will end up supporting Monarch.

"It's just such a nice atmosphere," event co-chair Sandie Fershtman Angart said. "There's beautiful jewelry, serving pieces, purses, clothing. Just an array of things."

Fershtman Angart created the event with Eileen Pech. She expects about 20 vendors to sell their items at the event. Each vendor has agreed to give a percentage back to Monarch, which provides programs and services for individuals with Autism, ages 3 to 22.

"The people who come are usually the ones who support the school," Fershtman Angart said. "We've gotten more vendors along the way. They're selling their wares, but everyone is just happy to do it."
