Movie Review & Job-Search Tips: Best of Local Voices
Here are the best blogs of the week

It's been a great week for Shaker Heights Patch's Local Voices.
In the past week, our bloggers discussed everything from a talking teddy bear on the silver screen to the type of job posting every eager graduate should avoid.
We know there's a chance you may have missed these blogs during a sunny, firework-laden holiday week. Don't fret, we'll bring you up to speed with our Blogs of the Week.
1. Our movie-stub collector began the week with a cautionary tale — don't go to a movie anticipating how you'll feel once it's done. He made that mistake when seeing Ted and had to give his review opening a do-over.
Patel admits that Ted, a film about a guy who grows weary of his talking bear, is funny, but he doesn't give it a ringing endorsement. The flick might have served better as one of Seth Macfarlane's 22-minute animated sitcoms instead of a full-length film, Patel concludes.
Give a read before seeing Ted.
2. People will always be drawn to writers who open themselves up about the experiences that made them stronger. That's exactly what you get from .
The Kent State post-graduate student after feeling fully accepted at a holiday party despite being deaf. She had previously given up on such events, but not anymore. Read about how two old high school buddies made Angie feel right at home on Independence Day.
3. humored readers all over Northeast Ohio a month ago with his animated series. He's back at it again with a digital comic strip about anamorphic cats that display the same qualities and deficiencies as humans. They're also pretty funny.
The first entry was a hoot. Be sure to follow Tyler in Local Voices so you can see what aspect of life the cats muse about next time.
4. Nobody knows the job hunt like . She frequently updates us with observations and hurdles people will need to leap to make it in today's job market.
This week she discussed the job ads many of us have seen — sports and marketing agencies looking to enthusiastic graduates looking for work. There's plenty these employers don't' tell the applicant, and Blazek is here to fill in the blanks. If you or anyone you know is looking for employment, be sure to check in with our own "job search house mother." She won't steer you wrong.
