No. 5 Top Story of 2012: St. Dominic School Receives National Recognition

The school was one of 269 across the country to be named a National Blue Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Education

In September, St. Dominic School in Shaker Heights stood among the top academic achievers in the country.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan named St. Dominic a 2012 National Blue Ribbon school. All schools were honored at a recognition ceremony in November in Washington D.C.

St. Dominic was one of 269 schools in the nation to win the award. Only three other schools in Ohio were named Blue Ribbon schools.

“I am thrilled that St. Dominic is receiving this recognition,” Principal Susan Biggs told Shaker Heights Patch following the announcement.
