Shaker Comes Up Big in Final Minute to Defeat Cleveland Heights

Shaker beat Cleveland Heights, 70-68, after trailing late in the fourth

Shaker Heights' victory over Cleveland Heights Sunday proved why every last second matters, especially in a high-profile, hardwood matchup.

The Red Raiders beat the Tigers 70-68, despite trailing by six with 57 seconds left in the game. The game was played before about 1,300 fans at the Cleveland Scholastic Play-By-Play Classic in Baldwin Wallace University's Ursprung Gymnasium, according to the Plain Dealer.

Shaker junior small forward Rosel Hurley was named team MVP at the Baldwin event. He had 17 points, including eight in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Esa Ahmad had 19 points and six rebounds.

Senior Antonio Harper was Cleveland Heights' MVP with eight points and 15 rebounds, while junior standout Marcus Bagley led the team with 16 points.
