Shaker Football Team Pushing for Playoffs
The team is 1.1 computer points away from qualifying for the playoffs
With three games left in the season, the Shaker Heights Red Raiders are fighting for a playoff position in the Ohio regional quarterfinals.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association on Tuesday released its weekly computer-point update for its six divisions. Shaker Heights is ranked ninth in Division I, Region 1, trailing Cleveland Heights by about 1.1 points.
The top eight teams from each region qualify for the playoffs. The final rankings will be released on Oct. 28.

A playoff appearance would add to an already remarkable turnaround for the Red Raiders. Shaker is 6-1 in its first season in the Northeast Ohio Conference. The team went 2-8 last year in the Lake Erie League.

Shaker Heights will travel to Brush for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday.
