Shaker Heights Democracy Day To Be Held Sept. 13
An in-person and virtual meeting will be held at Shaker Heights City Hall, giving residents a chance to voice their political opinions.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Shaker Heights' third Democracy Day will be held Sept. 13, the city announced.
An in-person and virtual public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers at Shaker Heights City Hall, 3400 Lee Road. Speakers will be given 5 minutes to speak, regardless of whether they're attending in-person or via Zoom.
A Zoom link for the hearing will be shared with the public prior to Sept. 13.

In 2016, Shaker Heights voters expressed their support for Democracy Day events to express their support to amend the U.S. Constitution to establish that human beings, and not corporations, are legal persons. They also said money is not free speech and must be regulated.
Democracy Day is held every two years in Shaker Heights and must be held within 90 days of the November general election.
