Shaker Heights Municipal Buildings Reopening To Public

Shaker Heights staff and visitors will be required to wear masks in common areas while inside the facilities.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Shaker Heights municipal buildings will reopen to the public on Sept. 7.

Only the Shaker Heights Community Building will not reopen on Sept. 7, the city said, due to a staffing shortage. Housing inspections will continue to be conducted by appointment only.

City employees and visitors will be required to wear masks in common areas, regardless of their vaccination status.

Thornton Park Ice Rink is open tot he public and masks will be required for all staff and visitors not actively using the ice.

Many of the city's properties were closed to the public at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and remained closed due to the threat of the virus. As Ohio schools reopen, so too are many municipal facilities across Ohio.
