Shaker Hockey Team To Play 11th State Final Four Match Today

Shaker Heights High School's hockey team last state title was 2001, and thy have been in the Ohio final four 11 times.

Shaker Heights High School's boys hockey team will play Rocky River High School for a spot in the state title game today at 1 p.m.

The team's made it to the final four in the state 11 times, and won their third state title in 2001, said a district spokesperson.

He's been with Shaker Heights for 37 years. 

The school's hockey alumni association is taking five buses from Shaker Heights to Nationwide Arena in Columbus for the game.

If the Raiders win, they'll play the winner of today's Powell Liberty-Sylvania Northview game for the state title Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.

The semifinal games will air live at the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel and the championship game will air Sunday at 4 p.m. on SportsTime Ohio.
