Shaker Students Win More Art Institute Awards Than Any Other School
Shaker High School students claimed 65 awards; their works will be on display at the Cleveland Art Institute

Shaker Heights students claimed more awards in the Cleveland Institute of Art's 2012-2013 Regional Scholastic Art Competition and Exhibition than any other participating school.
Arts students at Shaker Heights High School won 65 awards, an amount better than last year's record-setting performance. The winners will be among the 650 works that will be on display at the Institute's Reinberger Galleries today through Feb. 2. A panel of area artists and educators selected the winners from more than 2,100 entries.
Shaker participants took home seven Gold Keys, 22 Silver Keys, and 36 Honorable Mentions for projects in photography, jewelry, drawing, painting, digital art, film and animation. Those who receive Portfolio Awards and Gold Key awards will continue to the national competition this spring in New York, according to the Institute.
