April 11, 5:35 p.m. — Police arrested a man on an active North Randall arrest warrant near the 17700 block of Winslow Road.

Burglars take the kitchen sink, too
April 14, 2:27 p.m. — Police said someone broke into a home on the 3700 block of Menlo Road and stole copper piping, a washer, a dryer, a stove, a refrigerator, an air conditioning unit, and — yes — the kitchen sink.

Man fires gun in air
April 15, 8:12 p.m. — A resident of the 18400 block of Newell Road reported that a man walked outside and fired a gun into the air. Police said there was no altercation before he fired the weapon. When police arrived, they found evidence of the fired gun in the house and a man who matched the suspect description. The suspect, 34, from Woodmere, said that he did not fire the gun.
