Two Arrested for String of Thefts from Cars in Shaker Heights

Men charged with five misdemeanors each

Shaker Heights Police charged two men with a recent string of thefts from cars in the city.

The thefts occurred on Traver, Rawnsdale, Lytle and Warrensville Center Roads.

Police said the men used a credit card stolen from one of the cars at a business with a surveillance camera, and they were able to identify the suspects and the car.

Then, an officer spotted the men driving in Shaker Heights — in the parking lot on Warrensville Center Road in which they are accused of breaking into cars — and stopped them.

The men, ages 19 and 20, are from Shaker Heights and Warrensville Heights. They each face four counts of theft from a car and one count of vehicle trespassing.
