We discussed the city's Aug. 7 ballot issue — an income tax rate increase from 1.75 percent to 2.25 percent — all summer, examining various angles.

Voter approval would give the Shaker Heights one of the highest rates in Northeast Ohio, but it might also save the city from future fiscal danger.
