Basketball Showdown: Lady Comets Take on Twinsburg Saturday
The 14-2 Solon Comets will battle the defending state champion 13-3 Twinsburg Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Solon.
The gym will be rocking Saturday night when the defending state champion Twinsburg Tigers pay a visit to the surging Lady Comets.
Solon enters the game with a 14-2 record, one game better than the 13-3 Tigers. But Twinsburg, led by standout Malina Howard, is ranked fourth in the state in the latest AP Poll, and handed Solon one of its two losses in a 51-35 game on Dec. 14.
Solon defeated St. Vincent-St. Mary 83-57 on Wednesday, hitting a barage of three-pointers in the first half to take an early lead. Jaime Gluesing scored 28 points, Kristen Confroy added 21 points and Martha Thompson contributed 15 points.

Twinsburg enters the game with a win 57-40 win over Hathaway Brown. Howard led the effort with 24 points and Leah Fechko added 12 points.
