Chef Michael Symon Cooking at Solon Giant Eagle Grand Opening Thursday

If the opening of the new Market District Giant Eagle isn't exciting enough Thursday in Solon, famous Chef Mike Symon is also doing a cooking demonstration during the grand opening. 

Symon, host of ABC’s The Chew, will feature a brand new recipe from his new book at 10 a.m. prior to the official ribbon cutting ceremony with Giant Eagle CEO Laura Karet. The two will have a question and answer session after the ribbon cutting at the new 94,000-square-foot store, according to a prepared statement.

Giant Eagle said in a press release that the store has "sights, smells and sounds not typically found in a supermarket, including a chef demonstration kitchen, expanded assortment of international foods, a bulk food section with over 300 items and enhanced beer and wine offerings."

The Solon location at 44139 Aurora Rd. will offer a gourmet burger station, online ordering with curbside pickup, a sweet shop with hand-dipped chocolates and artisan cheeses.
