Deer Culling Now Underway, Will Continue Into March

Deer culling efforts began in Solon this week and are expected to continue into March.
David Hromco, who is managing the program for the city, said that the sharpshooting operations are being conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Divison of Wildlife.
Solon officials hope to cull about 300 deer. The carcasses will be processed and the meat will be donated to local hunger shelters.

The shooters are using a different of rifles than in past efforts, and that the gunshots are louder. It's possible that residents will hear gunshots.
He said that any residents with concerns can call the city's Public Works line at 440-337-1340.
