Drunken Drivers Beware: Solon Police Out In Force St. Patrick's Day
Solon Police will be out in force all day and all night to crack down on drunken driving.

The has a message for drinkers this St. Patrick's Day: Don't drive drunk.
Sgt. Jamey Hofmann said the police will be out in force day and night looking for drunken drivers.
"On St. Patrickβs Day, everybodyβs Irish, but nobodyβs above the law," he said. "If you drive drunk, you will get busted.Β The countyβs top DUI cops will be actively looking for those drivers who are putting themselves and other motorists at risk by choosing to drive impaired.Β They will find you and you will face the consequences."

Hofman said if youβve had too much to drink, make sure you can rely on a sober designated driver to get you home safely, or contact the Cuyahoga County Safe Rides Program at 1-877-361-TAXI for a safe ride home.
"Alcohol not only dangerously impairs your driving skills; it also impairs your judgment," he said. "If you see friends under the influence of alcohol, make sure you donβt let them get behind the wheel."

- Plan a safe way home before the festivities begin.Β
- Before drinking, please designate a sober driver and leave your car keys at home.
- Call the Cuyahoga County Safe Rides program at 1-877-361-TAXI for a discounted cab ride home.
- If you happen to see a drunk driver on the road, donβt hesitate to contact your local police department or call 1-800-GRAB-DUI.
- Remember, if you know people who are about to drive or ride while impaired, take their keys and help them make other arrangements to get to where they are going safely.
