Five Tips to Keep Your Kid Safe on Halloween

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Trick-Or-Treating in Solon is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight.

Before you hit the streets with your kids for trick-or-treating, take a few minutes to read these tips provided by the to be sure you'll stay safe and have fun.

1. Remember, It's Dark Out There: Everyone should wear reflective clothing, garments,Β or flashing LED lights so that they are visible.

2. Be Careful Crossing the Road: Trick-or-treaters should utilize crosswalks and/or intersections to cross the street.

3. Inspect the Treats: Treats should not be eaten until the trick-or-treater is home and an adult can inspect the treats.

4. Never Go Inside: Make sure that trick-or-treaters never enter a home of someone they do not know.

5. Adult Supervision: Children should be escorted by an adult.Β  If not, the adults should set a specific route for the children to follow for the evening not to be deviated from, and they should travel inΒ a group.
