Mother Cited For Holding 18-Month-Old Son In Her Lap In Moving Car

A mother was cited for child endangering by after she was caught driving with her 18-month-old son in her lap, according to a police report.
Police were called on March 3 by a witness who said they saw a woman driving on U.S. 422 East with a child on her lap. Four other kids were in the back seat, aged seven to two, and none of them were properly restrained, according to the report.
The two-year-old was in a car seat, but not properly strapped in.

The mother, a 22-year-old Cleveland woman, was riding in the passenger seat and cited with child endangering. She was the mother of three of the kids. The driver, an 18-year-old Cleveland woman, was cited for child seat violations.
Police say arrangements were made to get appropriate restraint devices before they were allowed to continue on, and Childrenβs Services was contacted to begin a case.Β Β Β Β Β
