North Ridgeville Man Charged With Murder Following Bizarre Post-Crash Shooting

SOLON, OH — Matthew Ryan Desha of North Ridgeville has been identified by police as the shooter of 53-year-old Deborah Pearl of Twinsburg following a car crash in Solon on Saturday morning.

According to police, Desha blew through a red light at the Solon and Richmond road intersection and struck Pearl's vehicle. Desha's car flipped over and upon exiting his overturned vehicle, he took out a rifle and shot Pearl multiple times.

Pearl was taken to the hospital where she later died. Desha was arrested at the scene.

Desha has had other traffic violations including speeding, being cited for having an "unsafe vehicle" and failure to control, reports cleveland19.com.

Desha is scheduled to appear in court around 11 a.m. on Monday.
