Police Charge Woman with Stealing Credit Cards from Purse Left at Panera Bread

Credit cards were reported stolen from purse left at Panera Bread, police find suspect

After a monthlong investigation, Solon police arrested a 36-year-old Warrensville Heights woman and charged her with stealing credit cards from a purse left at Panera Bread on March 4 and using them to withdraw money and make purchases at a gas station, police said.

Charmaine Williams was charged with felony theft and misuse of a credit card, police said.

According to Solon Police, a Concord woman reported that she left her purse at Panera, and inside were her credit cards and a slip of paper with her debit card PIN. When she went back to Panera, the credit cards were gone.

Williams used the woman's cards to withdraw $160 at U.S. Bank on SOM Center Road and to purchase $70 of merchandise at the Shell Station in Solon, police said.

Persistent follow-up Β led to a traffic stop of the suspect car, which was seen in ATM photos, and Williams was arrested on April 2.Β
