Solon Man Scammed by Person Claiming to Work for IRS
The following information was provided by the Solon Police Department.

A 68-year-old Dorsset Lane man told Solon Police that he got a call from the IRS, but it wasn't to give him extra money.
The man said he got a call on Aug. 23 around 10:30 a.m. from a man claiming he was an employee of the IRS.Â
The caller said the Solon man's son owed them $3,500 and if he didn't pay the money his son would go to jail.
The victim went to the bank and withdrew the money, but before he did anything else he started asking questions.
When the caller didn't have the answers, he hung up and wasn't heard from again.
