Solon Students Honored Today At 'Stop the Hate' Ceremony
Three Solon High School students, including essay finalist Zachary Schwartz, will be honored at the fourth annual Maltz Museum 'Stop the Hate' Awards Ceremony.

Three students, including Solon Patch blogger , will be honored today at the Maltz Museum's fourth annual "Stop the Hate" Awards ceremony.
Schwartz, a Solon High senior, is one of 10 finalists competing for three college scholarships, worth $50,000, $25,000 and $15,000 .
Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage's Stop the Hate: Youth Speak Out essay contest involves students from more than 120 schools who wrote essays addressing a variety of issues, from cyber-bullying and homelessness to ethnic, racial and religious discrimination, and offer heartfelt and innovative solutions.

The finalists were chosen from a field of more than 1,800 students who wrote essays on their ideas for ending discrimination.
Schwartz and the finalists will read their essays during a ceremony today at Severence Hall in Cleveland, and then winners will be announced.

Two other Solon students are also being honored. Freshman Josh Chernomorets and seventh grader Arjun Ramachandran will also be honored at the ceremony.
