Sunmart Employee Catches Men Passing A Fake $20 Bill

Information provided by the Solon Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction

A man tried to pass a fake $20 bill at Sunmart on Oct. 16, but was caught by the clerk, according to Solon police.

The clerk refused the bill and gave it back to the man. When he left, the clerk called police and gave officers the license plate number on the vehicle, police said.

The number was traced back to a business, and employees told police who was driving the car. The clerk then positively identified the man.

Officers arrested Donald Swanson, 43, of Bedford, and Joshua Spilman, 21, of Twinsburg. Both were charged with criminal simulation, according to police.
