Sweet 16: Solon Girls Basketball Plays Mentor Tonight in Regional Semi-Final

The Solon Comets and Mentor Cardinals will play in the regional semi-final game at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Canton Memorial Civic Arena.

It's sweet 16 time in the Division One girls basketball state championship tournament, and the Solon Lady Comets are still alive.

A 57-39 win over Shaker Heights in the Bedford district championship game on Saturday means the Lady Comets are one of 16 teams remaining. Two more wins and Solon will be heading to Columbus as one of the final four teams and a chance to compete for a state championship.

But first things first. Solon will play Mentor in the regional semi-final game at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
