As a Breast Cancer survivor, Nicole Rey, co-owner of the Nothing Bundt Cakes in Stow, is passionate about bringing awareness to breast cancer prevention. Throughout the month of October, her bakery will donate $5 from every decorated Bundt Cake sold to Susan G. Komen. “As a breast cancer survivor, I want to do whatever I can to help others prevent the disease,” explained Rey. “It is an honor to support the crucial organizations fighting for those women and men who are affected by breast cancer.”

She was first asked by the Komen organization to donate Bundtinis for recent Race for the Cure volunteers and participants, which she did, but then Rey asked if she could do more in the way of the donation. “Of course, they said ‘yes!’” grinned Rey. Nothing Bundt Cakes has created a Nothing Bundt Strength decoration for 8” and 10” cakes and Rey hopes that many will see this as a way to champion the cause. As the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer, Susan G. Komen is the only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease. Their efforts have helped reduce deaths from breast cancer by 43% since 1989 and they are on a mission to continue until the promise to end cancer forever is fulfilled.
