🌱 $3.5 Million For Strongsville Redesign + Conservation Grants

Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:
- Cuyahoga County has given the City of Strongsville $3.5 million to redesign the city center. The money is allocated from the county's American Rescue Plan Act funds. The redesign project will build an interactive fountain/splash pad, a playground, a pavilion, green space, and new walking trails. The project is expected to cost $7 million. (cleveland.com)
- The Cuyahoga County Planning Commission has announced that it is currently accepting applications for Clean Ohio Greenspace Conservation Program grants. There will be about $3.3 million in grant money distributed through the program. The grants are meant to preserve open space, ecological areas, and stream corridors within the county. (Cleveland.com)
- The trial of Cuyahoga County's Tamara McLoyd begins today. McLoyd has been accused of fatally shooting an off-duty Cleveland Police Department officer on New Year's Eve. She has been charged with aggravated murder, murder, and robbery. The jury selection was on Monday. Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John O'Donnell is trying the case. (The Chronicle)
