Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

  1. Cuyahoga County courthouse security guards have stopped carrying guns. The guards at the county's Justice Center, Juvenile Justice Center, Lakeside Courthouse, and Courthouse Square are not allowed to carry firearms, according to the Prosecutor's Office. Deputies with the Cuyahoga County Sherriff's Department are still allowed to carry firearms in the courthouses. (Cleveland 19)
  2. On Tuesday, the Cuyahoga County Council approved $11.8 million in stimulus spending for 19 different projects. The approval was given for each project separately and unanimously. The projects include an animal shelter, a recycling center, a lakefront park, and an addiction treatment center for women. The funds are part of the county's controversial community grant funds through American Rescue Plan Act funds. (Cleveland.com)
  3. The Strongsville Recreation Department is hosting a special promotion on personal training sessions for the holiday season. The promotion will run between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31. Residents can purchase 10 sessions with a degreed and certified personal trainer for $275. The usual price for 10 sessions is $375 for members. (City of Strongsville)
