  1. Over the weekend, the Ohio State Highway Patrol released new video footage of a driver who caused a fatal crash last week after stealing a BMW from a Strongsville dealership. Raymond Francis, 23, had been pulled over by OSHP in Cleveland on Aug. 27 after the registration showed the vehicle he was driving had been stolen. Officials say Francis then attempted to flee and eventually crashed into another vehicle and a house near West 41st St. and Trowbridge Ave. in Cleveland. The newly-released images, which came from a body-worn camera, a dash camera, and an OSHP chopper flight crew, show the BMW nearly hitting a bicyclist and a school bus before running a stop sign and hitting the other vehicle. 2. The Cuyahoga County Department of Health and Human Services director reports that the county will be proposing several changes to the Jane Edna Hunter Social Services Center this month. The changes will reportedly divert youth from the office building while increasing staff to strengthen the area's social services network. The Cuyahoga County Council has been under pressure about the center since DCFS staff asked for help in July. Click the following link to review the proposals. (Cleveland.com)
  3. Republican Cuyahoga County executive candidate Lee Weingart has proposed a plan to make the county the levier and collector of income taxes. Under Weingart's plan, the county would distribute the taxes to the individual municipalities within the county. Voters would need to amend the county charter to create a countywide municipality to make the plan a reality. (Cleveland.com)
