Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:

  1. Early in-person voting for the Nov. 8 General Election starts on Oct. 12 in Cuyahoga County. The specific hours for early in-person voting are posted here. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Voters will need to bring proper identification with them to the polls. (City of Strongsville)
  2. Cuyahoga County has lost millions in an "unbalanced deal" with Cleveland on inmate housing. The estimate of the loss is currently at five million dollars, according to the county's Public Safety and Justice Affairs Committee. The city is compensating the county $99 per day to house an inmate. The actual cost of each inmate is roughly $165 per day. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  3. The next president and CEO of Cuyahoga County's public MetroHealth System will be Airica Steed. She is the chief operating officer of Sinai Chicago Health System and president of Mount Sinai and Sinai Children's Hospital.
