🌱 First County Executive Debate + Sporting Equipment Shortage

Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:
- The first official Cuyahoga County Executive debate has been scheduled. The debate will be hosted by the City Club of Cleveland on Tuesday, Sep. 20. Democrat Chris Ronayne will be debating Republican Lee Weingart. The County Executive position serves 1.2 million residents and oversees an office with a $1.5 billion budget. - The Strongsville Police Department responded to a multiple vehicle crash on Wednesday morning around 5:40 a.m. The crash on I-71 northbound near Bagley Road caused traffic to come to a complete standstill. Once police arrived, the traffic was able to proceed through. It is not clear if there were any significant injuries during the crash. (Cleveland 19)
- Strongsville coaches are reporting a shortage of sporting equipment. According to the coaches, the shortage first began with helmets. The issue is reportedly due to equipment becoming outdated along with a rise in the number of students participating in sports. The shortage is reportedly impacting all school levels. (WKYC.com)

- The final Household Hazardous Waste Collection events of the year will be on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31. Materials can be dropped off at the Service Center on Foltz Parkway between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (City of Strongsville)
