Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District's First Rings First Fellowship program is searching for STEM teachers. The immersive outdoor experience offers environmental science opportunities to local students. The program is offering teachers professional development, graduate credit, field trip support, and incentives. Space is limited. (Cleveland.com)
- A Cuyahoga County Grand Jury has indicted a man on two counts of aggravated vehicular assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, and not stopping after an accident. The indictment is in response to an incident that occurred on Jul. 21 in the area of Track Road and Lufkin Avenue. Christian Vance reportedly crashed his vehicle into a group of bicyclists. A three-year-old girl died during the incident. (Cleveland 19)
- Cuyahoga County is $1.5 billion in debt but county officials report that the county can continue to borrow more. The county is considering a $31 million charge for converting the Global Center for Health Innovation. County officials claim that the county can borrow another $2.3 billion. A new county jail will likely cost $550 million. (Cleveland.com)
