🌱 First Woman Fire Chief In The County + Monkeypox Precautions

Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

  1. Cuyahoga County has its first woman fire chief. Chief DeVito-Staub is the new fire chief for the Woodmere Fire Department. Currently, fewer than 5 percent of firefighters are women in the U.S. The Woodmere Police Department also has a woman chief. (WKYC.com)
  2. The Cuyahoga County Board of Health reports that Monkeypox cases are low in the county but residents should still be taking precautions. The department suggests residents wear masks, wash hands frequently, and adhere to social distancing. These measures are the best precautions against communicable diseases such as Monkeypox. The department is confident the disease will be contained. (News 5 Cleveland)
  3. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has identified the homicide victim discovered in downtown Cleveland. Marcus Young, 47, was located on Monday in the 1300 block of Superior Avenue. The Cleveland Police Department is currently investigating the suspected homicide. (Cleveland 19)
