Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:

  1. A former Strongsville-based adoption agent has been sentenced to prison for a bribery scheme involving Ugandan officials. Debra Parris, 70 years old, will be serving one year and one day in prison. The recommended sentence was about three years. U.S. District Judge James Gwin cited her serious healthcare needs for the shorter prison sentence. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  2. Cleveland Metroparks has announced the operation dates for Strongsville's toboggan chutes. The holiday attractions have been operating for fifty years. The twin, 700-foot refrigerated ice chutes will be operating the day after Thanksgiving and remain open through the last weekend in February. Click for more information about the toboggan chutes.   3. The Strongsville Community Theater's "A Tribute to the Great American Songbook" was another showstopper. This was the second time that the fundraising event has supported the SCT Jean Thom Scholarship Fund. The event proceeds will be used for scholarships for Strongsville High School seniors that will be pursuing university studies in the performing arts. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
