Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- The average price of gasoline in Cuyahoga County has fallen below $4 a gallon. The average price in the county is currently $3.98. The only county still above $4 per gallon in the region is Geauga County at $4.12 per gallon. (Cleveland.com)
- Masks will once again be required in Cuyahoga County buildings on Aug. 1. The mask requirements return is due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. The county will also require individuals to practice 6-foot social distancing while prohibiting more than 4 individuals in an elevator. The CDC has currently labeled the county at a "high" community spread level. (Cleveland 19)
- The Cuyahoga County Council will be deciding whether or not to purchase property along Transport Road for the construction of a new jail on Tuesday. The council will also be considering a measure to permanently extend the quarter-percent sale tax to pay for the new jail's construction. The council has not fully decided on whether or not to build a new jail or renovate the existing structure. (Cleveland.com)

- The next Strongsville Community Band Concert will be on Aug. 5. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on the lawn of Strongsville Middle School. Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair. (City of Strongsville)
- The Strongsville Police Department reminds the community to lock doors. By simply locking a door, the chance of theft is significantly lowered. (Strongsville Police Department via Facebook)
- Strongsville's next Shred Day is on Sept. 10 at 11:00 a.m. The event will be held at Jardine Funeral Home. Start collecting shredding materials today. (City of Strongsville)
