Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

  1. Cuyahoga County will be hosting an OSC-approved Guardian Ad Litem pre-service training program today and tomorrow. It will be held in the PALS for Healing Training Room in Independence — about a half hour out from the Strongsville area — between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day. The program will be teaching the necessary skills to advocate for local children to attorneys. (Cleveland Jewish News)
  2. The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District survey results regarding residents' garbage collection preferences have been published. The results indicate that more than half of all University Heights residents want a change in the current backyard collection method. The proposed alternative would be automated collection. The survey and analysis were performed by Resource Recycling Systems. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  3. Wildlife officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources have collected evidence from the Lake Erie Walleye Trail fishing tournament's cheating scandal. The department is currently compiling a report for the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office. Footage of the moment that the tournament director pulled weights from the fish has gone viral on social media. (Subscription: New York Times)
