Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

  1. A Cuyahoga judge has ruled that the City of Cleveland must refund 2020 income taxes for a Pennsylvania woman who was working remotely during the pandemic. The new ruling will likely have rippling effects through the metro area. Strongsville will likely lose between $1 to $2.2 million in income tax revenue. (News 5 Cleveland)
  2. Cuyahoga County officials are reviewing the county's payroll. The county is analyzing its operational and organizational structure to determine the required number of staffers each department needs. The report will eventually recommend operational changes to improve the county's efficiency. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
  3. Strongsville residents now have a direct flight to Dublin, Ireland from the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Starting on May 19, the flights will be offered with Aer Lingus. The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon amid the sounds of bagpipes and green balloons. (News 5 Cleveland)

  • Halloween at Safety Town is scheduled for Oct. 8 at 4:00 p.m. The event is meant for children between kindergarten and first grade. Don't forget to wear costumes. (City of Strongsville)
