Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:
- The first-ever StrongFest will be held at the Rec Center on Aug. 27. The event will feature beer and wine tastings, along with food trucks, a travel auction, and music by the band "Jump the Gun". The event will be between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (City of Strongsville)
- There are a lot of new jobs available near Strongsville. Local companies including ACCEL Schools, Senior Life Agency 36, and many more are looking to hire. Click the link for the full list that includes part-time, full-time, and seasonal positions. (Strongsville Patch)
- The County Council approved a second review of the Cuyahoga County Jail on Monday along with almost $20,000 for emergency structural shoring installation in the Justice Center's parking garage. The second review will examine whether or not the jail can be renovated. The second review narrowly passed an approval vote. A review in 2014 reported that the jail could not be renovated and that a new one would need to be built. (Cleveland.com)

- The Strongsville Historical Society is hosting a workshop on researching your home. The workshop will be at the Strongsville Public Library at 7:00 p.m. on Aug. 23. (City of Strongsville)
- Marijuana could become legal for recreational use in Ohio. The U.S. Senate has introduced a bill to legalize marijuana in all 50 states and expunging federal cannabis-related records. There is still a ballot initiative to get the issue on the Nov. 2023 ballot in Ohio. (Cleveland Scene)
