Missing Teen with Special Needs Found Safe

The search for a missing teen in Strongsville ended with good news thanks to help from social media.

Earlier today, the Strongsville Police Department posted a plea for people to be on the look out for a 16-year-old girl with special needs who went missing. The girl, who was last seen near the turnpike/Huntington Park area.

She was described as wearing a black shirt and having long blond hair and missing from Mataire Lane, which is in the Huntington Park area in the northern end of town, near the Metroparks.

Around 1 p.m., a tip was posted on Facebook saying the girl may have been spotted at a Walmart on Pearl Road.

Shortly after the latest tip was posted, Strongsville Police announced that the girl had been found safe and reunited with her family. They also praised the community for their help stating that the posts about the missing girl had more than 1,300 shares.
