Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:
- Strongsville Police Department's Chief, Mark Fender, is asking the community to ensure firearms cannot be accessed by young children. The department has been proactive in preventing incidents involving children accessing loaded firearms. The department has been distributing gun locks while educating parents on firearm safety. Chief Fender is encouraging ammunition to be stored in a separate location away from firearms. (News 5 Cleveland WEWS)
- Various Cuyahoga County Public Library branches will be hosting the Greater Cleveland Food Bank's mobile food pantry. The food bank expects demand for the mobile food pantry to be high. Participants are encouraged to arrive early. Click for a list of mobile food pantry locations. (Cleveland.com)
- The City of Strongsville will be hiring Euthenics Inc. to perform a traffic study on a new Interstate 71 interchange. The project would be at Boston Road. The Cleveland-based engineering firm will be paid no more than $319,342 to identify design options and report whether the interchange is needed. The contract was unanimously approved by the Strongsville City Council. (cleveland.com)
