- According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Cleveland is no longer the poorest large city in the United States. Detroit has edged out Cleveland for the title. The poverty rate in Ohio is still high, however; in Cuyahoga County, one in five residents lives below the poverty level. (News 5 Cleveland)
- Brittany Barksdale has been indicted in Cuyahoga County court for the deadly shooting of Cayden Williams. He was shot on East 77th Street in his bedroom by stray gunfire. Barksdale will be arraigned in court on Oct. 4. (Cleveland19)
- A Strongsville quilting group creates quilts from start to finish to donate. The completed quilts are donated to Rainbow Babies & Children Hospital, MetroHealth Medical Center Pediatrics, the Salvation Army, and the UH Seidman Cancer Center. The group meets on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. at Ehrnfelt Recreation Center and is free for members. (City of Strongsville)
