Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:

  1. On Tuesday, the Justice Center Executive Steering Committee reviewed a potential plan to renovate the existing Cuyahoga County jail. The proposal was presented by Eric Ratts of DLZ Architecture. It includes improving the jail's conditions such as increasing bedspace and accommodating a rehabilitative care model. Ratts claims that renovating the jail remains an option. 2. Despite the lack of another Cuyahoga County executive debate, residents can still learn about the candidates through a number of upcoming candidate forums. The next forum will be on Oct. 12 at Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry at 10:00 a.m. The candidates will be discussing various topics such as healthcare, human services, and the county's critical needs. 3. A friendly reminder: the deadline to register to vote is Oct. 11. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections will remain open until 9:00 p.m. on Oct. 11 to accommodate last-minute in-person registrations. To check your registration, click here.
